Janis Joplin

#legends

as i thought about some great artists of the past, this one is no different. there are very few songs from this epic singer i love but she did have a unique voice. i watch all the music shows, the Voice, American Idol and every once in a while someone shows up on stage reminding us of the good old days. the raspy voice and soft melodies.

her history…

Janis Lyn Joplin (/ˈɒplɪn/; January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American rock singer and songwriter; one of the most successful and widely-known female rock stars of her era. After releasing three albums, she died of a heroin overdose at the age of 27. A fourth album, Pearl, was released in January 1971, just over three months after her death. It reached number one on the Billboard charts. continue to read from wikipedia
